WHAT ABOUT ME?

I have worked in marketing, design, and advertising for over 16 years. Since 2015, I have been working as a contract designer for the legend Carlos Santana. I currently work with a wide range of projects

and designs from album covers, world tour art, merchandise, licensing products and web graphics.

Working as an independent contractor, I have gained extensive experience and knowledge in managing my time on a large number of projects with varying, difficulty levels all while monitoring my budgets

and handling billing. This has elevated my passion for what I do and the quality of the work I produce for my clients.

I have been employed at Sierra Nevada Brewery Co and a local marketing firm in Redding between 2005-2015, gaining extensive experience in marketing, graphic design, print and web communications

from concept to production within a highly competitive market over a large range of industries. I have worked on a number of design projects from packaging and beer labels, to branding and naming. I have played an integral role in the success and growth of these companies. I started as a graphic designer and grew into lead designer at Sierra Nevada, assisting and working side by side with the marketing team. This role required multi-tasking of various projects from start to finish in a very fast paced and always changing environment. Working most of my week independently at my home office for Sierra Nevada, I developed strong time management, self-discipline and project management, skills. I worked through an online project management site with my managers and co-workers to ensure I had a seamless workflow, communication and quality of work.

My husband and I own a printing company in Red Bluff, adding 15 years of technical experience in pre-press operation, print production, wide format printing and a variety of others to my design skillset. We print and source everything from large banners and signs to business cards and school books.

I am a seasoned photographer with over 20 years experience using both conventional and digital formats. I am highly proficient in digital photo editing and manipulation through the use of Photoshop. I have been working in photo restoration and manipulation since 1996, and I continuously keep my skills sharp with workshops and tutorials on the latest version of the software that is available. I am also very proficient in Mac and PC platforms.

My personal passion is traveling the world. Over the past 20, years I have visited over 23 countries around the world. My travels were for the purpose of personal growth and awareness, as well

as photographing people, architecture and geography. The time spent abroad has provided inspiration for my life values and my design work both personally and professionally. In addition, my travels have taught me a great deal about independence, creative problem solving, persistence, and communication.

Throughout my career, I have demonstrated an exceptional ability for meeting organizational objectives and demands on multiple concurrent projects within a fast-paced and time-sensitive field. I am dedicated to remaining current on industry-standard technology and software as well as trade trends. I am also well versed in job processes, file naming protocols and archiving for a range of projects.

I love the small community I live in and I understand the importance of making it the best place it can be. I volunteer in my spare time at the Juvenile Detention Center, teaching at-risk kids computer skills and art in hopes to better their lives when they are released.

My skills include, but are not limited to: welding, snowboarding, speaking Spanish, sign language, thrifting for treasures, and surviving an elephant stampede in the middle of the night in Africa.

When she is not creating art, Heather creates mischief with her husband and daughters Annapurna and Everest. She loves planning themed parties, sewing costumes and traveling to all the corners of the world. In case it is not already clear, she is both silly and witty, sometimes simultaneously. She also takes cream and sugar with her coffee.
